JORDAN JUGA SUDAH BERMULA..... MESIR BELUM SELESAI..... NEXT???

on Feb 2, 2011

Jordan's king has replaced the prime minster as protests over a high jobless rate and inflation have continued.

Up to several thousand Jordanians have been holding rallies on a daily basis, inspired by the mass demonstrations in Tunisia and Egypt.

On Tuesday, the cabinet of Prime Minister Samir Rifai stepped down en masse.

Rifai's government worked out measures to cut prices of daily necessities and raise wages for public servants two weeks ago. But he failed to satisfy protesters, and more people were joining demonstrations.

King Abdullah appointed Marouf Bakhit as next prime minister and asked him to form a new cabinet and carry out political and economic reforms. Bakhit is a conservative former premier with a military background.

Opposition parties dismissed the appointment saying Bakhit is unlikely to reform the country.
