Hishamuddin : Confused, Confusing Or Both

on Feb 18, 2012

Minister of Home Affairs Hishamuddin Hussein has said that he does not want Malaysia to be a transit point or a staging place for terrorists, transnational criminals and crime. Well I think the Minister is too late.

First of all Malaysia has long been the centre for Iranian drug smugglers, Chinese human traffickers and Nigerian scammers. And now we have become a staging area for Iranian terrorists who blew themselves up trying to explode bombs in Thailand.

Here is some news from Agencie France Presse (AFP) which says that the Iranian terrorist bombers have been using Malaysia as a base for quite some time. What does Hishamuddin have to say about this? Please dont say "I did not know". You are the Minister of Home Affairs.

AFP says they got their information from 'security sources' inside the Malaysian Government. Their news report does sound more credible. Compare this to the other report here from The Star which quotes directly from Hishamuddin the Minister, which actually raises more questions and confusion. First here is the AFP report:

Police probes Iran suspect’s past visits

February 17, 2012

The Iranian suspect had visited Malaysia many times and police are investigating if there is a local connection.

KUALA LUMPUR: An Iranian arrested in Kuala Lumpur after a botched Thailand bomb plot had traveled to Malaysia several times and authorities were investigating the visits, a security source said Friday. Malaysian officials have said Masoud Sedaghatzadeh was arrested at Kuala Lumpur’s international airport Wednesday as he sought to leave the country for Iran. He had arrived the day before on a flight from Thailand.

(My comments : So the Iranian terrorist had already arrived in KL and was preparing to run away back to Iran. Please note this point because Hsiahmuddin is confused over this as well).

He is suspected of being involved in Tuesday’s bomb incident, which has already seen two other Iranians charged in Thailand and led to Israeli accusations that Iran was behind an international terror campaign.

Malaysian police have found that Sedaghatzadeh had entered the country several times since last year, said the government security source, who is familiar with the case but spoke on condition of anonymity.

(My comments : This info comes from a 'government security source'. So the Iranian terrorists have been using Malaysia as a base for some time already. Hishamuddin please wake up from your slumber. Please talk to the professionals in the PDRM and even to the people in Parcel B. They understand these things well).

“We are now interrogating him to see if there is any local connection,” he told AFP.

Sedaghatzadeh has told Malaysian authorities he is an automotive parts dealer and had traveled to Malaysia, Thailand, and elsewhere in the region for business, the source said.

Thailand has said it would seek the extradition of Sedaghatzadeh, but the security source said Malaysia was yet to receive a formal request, and added that the extradition process could take several weeks.

(My comments : First of all our Police must have arrested this Iranian terrorist at the airport after being requested to do so by the Thai Police. Takkan we arrested him sebab seronok seronok. So why should the extradition back to Thailand take several weeks? This is a terrorist bomber. Send him back to Thailand asap so that the Thai Police can question him and complete their investigations.

I dont understand. When the Saudi Arabian boy used his Blackberry to send a Tweet (which is NOT a crime), Hishamuddin had him extradited away 5000 km back to Saudi Arabia within 48 hours, despite a Malaysian Court Order being issued to withold his extradition.

Now, we have Iranian terrorist bombers who exploded bombs in Thailand our nearest neighbouring country and fellow ASEAN member and Hishamuddin will not extradite him for a few more weeks? Something is not right here folks. Do read on.)

Malaysian government and police officials have declined comment, citing the ongoing investigation. The Iranian is currently being held for unspecified immigration offences.

Police obtained a court order on Thursday to hold him for up to two weeks, the security source said.

Now here is the report on the same subject from today's Star. Either The Star has messed up the report or Hishamuddin is messed up. I am inclined to believe the latter.

Hisham: No extradition request for Iranian terror suspect

KLUANG: The extradition of an Iranian believed to be linked to terrorist bombings in Bangkok will be handled according to existing legal procedures, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein. However, he added that Malaysia had not received any extradition request for Masoud Sedaghatzadeh, 31.

“At the moment, he is still under our detention,” Hishammuddin said of the suspected terrorist who was arrested by the authorities as he was about to board a flight to Teheran at the LCCT in Sepang on Wednesday. Masoud is believed to be linked to Tuesday's bombings in Bangkok.

(My comments : As I said, Hishamuddin had the Saudi Arabian boy arrested at the airport here and extradited 5000 km back to Saudi Arabia within 48 hours - just for sending a Tweet. Now we have Iranian terrorist bombers who have been arrested at the request of Thailand our immediate neighbours and Hishamuddin says it will be "handled according to existing legal procedures". This may take weeks.

I say Hisham, just put him on a flight and send him back to Thailand. When we were fighting the communists our boys crossed the border quietly into Thailand with fully loaded guns. When they returned their guns were fully "unloaded". And I am not referring to "hot pursuit" either. The Thais did cooperate with us to fight the communists. So dont drag your feet on this one and jeopardise our relations with our immediate neighbours.)

Now here is something quite alarming from Hishamuddin :

Hishammuddin added that Iran had not asked for Masoud to be returned.

(My comments : Why should the Iranians ask for Masoud to be returned? The crime was committed in Thailand, not in Iran. Please dont think of sending the terrorist bomber back to Iran. It is not impossible that he was an agent sent out on a terror mission. If you send him back to Iran, the case may never be solved.

Transnational criminals are extradited from one country back to the country where the crime was committed. For instance if a Malaysian travelled to Iceland, exploded a bomb there and then ran away to Greenland where he was arrested, then from Greenland he will be extradited back to Iceland.

Why Iceland? Because that is where he exploded the bomb. They will not send him back to Malaysia. The bomb exploded in Iceland - so how are the Police or Prosecutors in Malaysia going to gather any evidence to prosecute him for a bomb that was exploded in Iceland?

I also want to put Hishamuddin and the Police on notice about something else. Over the past year, I have been noticing an increase in the Taliban type people around the Masjid India area in Kuala Lumpur.

These are people from Pakistan, India and Afghanistan who seem to be visiting Kuala Lumpur in increasing numbers. You can easily recognise them - they wear the Taliban type pyjamas, with white skull caps, huge beards, no moustache and they walk around in pairs or small groups. They are definitely not tourists - they do not carry cameras (photography is haram for them). Neither are they carpet sellers, rug sellers, textile traders or roti naan sellers. I dont know what they do here but their numbers are increasing.

My guess is they go around the many Pakistani traders in Malaysia and solicit donations and money from them. That by itself is a crime (or should be a crime) because foreigners cannot just walk into our country to solicit money for any purposes, especially for religious purposes. They do not approach Malaysians. I walk past them all the time and they do not interact with Malaysians. This suggests that they are not collecting money for 'rumah anak yatim'.

Ever since Liwat was Minister in the Gomen we have attracted all sorts of undesirable characters to our country. Indonesian terrorist guru Abu Bakar Bashir was granted PR status here. We played host to Moro rebels, Aceh rebels, Southern Thai rebel leaders and all sorts of people. The alleged Al Qaeda 9-11 plotters also used Malaysia as a base. The Bali bomb mastermind Azahari Husin was a Malaysian. So was another fellow.

Then the Pakistanis and Sri Lankans came to Malaysia to manufacture parts used in nuclear centrifuges. This blew up into an international scandal - where Slumberjack's son was also implicated. Now we also seem to be playing hosts to the Iranian connection.

Someone is sleeping on the job.
