(Malaysiakini, 4 March 2010) - The police has been urged to investigate carpet company director Deepak Jaikishan, who was implicated by private eye P Balasubramaniam of the Altantuya Shaariibuu case, for alleged "suspicious" earnings running into hundred of millions.

Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia coordinator Badrul Hisham Shaharin lodged the report at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters today.

According to the police report, Badrul Hisham said he had information that Deepak's company - Carpet Raya Sdn Bhd - had recorded RM122 million in revenue and RM7 million in profit.

"The quantum of the profit and revenue is very suspicious in view that the company is registered as a carpet trader," said Badrul Hisham, who is also PKR supreme council member.

"I am skeptical about the profit made by the company because of its nature (a carpet trader), where earnings of such a huge amount is doubtful," he said.

Along with the police report, Badrul has attached information on Carpet Raya obtained from the Registrar of Companies as well as bank transactions involving the company as evidence.

According to Badrul, the evidence was obtained over a month ago but was only made public now after this had been validated.

"My sources will only be revealed if the police can ensure that further action will be taken against the carpet company," he said.

Last year, Balasubramaniam had alleged that Deepak played a role in urging the private investigator to withdraw a damning statutory declaration which drew a link between Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and Altantuya.

**************************************
(Malaysia Today, 12 April 2010) The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has interviewed Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s younger brother Nazim with regard to the 2006 murder of Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu.

In confirming this, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Mohd Nazri Aziz said MACC had also interviewed carpet dealer Deepak Jaikrishnan, in relation to private investigator P Balasubramanian’s statutory declaration.

Balasubramaniam created controversy on July 3, 2008 when he distributed a sworn deposition in connection with Altantuya’s murder, alleging links between Najib, his close friend Abdul Razak Baginda and the deceased.

The next day, the private investigator retracted his statutory declaration and subsequently left the country with his family.

On Oct 27 last year, in the presence of three prominent lawyers, Balasubramian came out of hiding and reaffirmed that his first statutory declaration was true and that he was offered RM5million to retract it.

In the no-holds-barred interview, he named Deepak -- who is said to be an associate of Rosmah Mansor, the prime minister's wife -- as the person who met him at a Rawang restaurant and made the cash offer.

Balasubramaniam also claimed that he had been offered RM5 million by Nazim to retract the first statutory declaration, a charge which the prime minister rubbished.

Things have been very quiet since one year ago when those reports first came out. One wonders how come the silence is so deafening so Malaysia Today did some probing to try to update you on what is the latest.

And this is what we managed to drag up from the cesspool.

Deepak is no longer the First Lady’s confidante. It seems, because of so much negative publicity about him, she has dropped him like a hot potato.

But Deepak is still going around telling everyone he not only has the First Lady’s ear but also shares her bed. Of course, most snigger behind his back at this very idle boast because they know he no longer is her bagman cum toyboy, although he is most certainly still the carpetman.

Deepak is trying to score points and get back into the good books of the First Lady. This is because of a loan scandal with the Kuwait Finance House. It seems he has not only overstretched himself but the loan is mired in kickbacks. He paid ‘commission’ to some officers of the bank to procure his loan.

So we are not just talking about a delinquent loan here but a criminal act involving bribery and corruption as well.

Deepak, therefore, can’t afford to be persona non grata in the First Household. Umno has a way of eliminating those no longer useful to those who walk in the corridors of power and Deepak is beginning to suspect that he fits into this category. So he needs to pull off a coup to be able to again walk in the corridors of power.

And Deepak is trying to do that by bringing P.I. Balasubramaniam back to Malaysia. If he can engineer Bala’s return and get Bala, yet again, to sign a fourth Statutory Declaration absolving the Prime Minister and the First Lady from any involvement in the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu, then the First Lady might be pleased as punch and admit him back into the First Household.

But Deepak has blundered big time, the mother of all blunders. He has also been going around bad mouthing the First Lady. He has said many nasty things about her and this, of course, has reached her ears. So she is pissed big time. And when Rosmah Mansor is pissed she is really pissed. What is that they say about a woman scorned?

Deepak has also been telling everyone that the First Lady informed him that Anwar Ibrahim is dead meat. The man in that porn video is undoubtedly Anwar, says Deepak. It seems this is what the First Lady told him.

Deepak disputes that the video was shot in February 2011. It is an old video of 15 years ago, explains Deepak. That is why Anwar looks younger and better built in the video, argues Deepak. And it was shot at the time Anwar was still the Deputy Prime Minister cum Finance Minister during a threesome session that he is so fond of indulging in. And Deepak says that P.I. Bala knows about this and can confirm it -- so that is why he needs to bring Bala back to Malaysia so that they can hammer the final nails in Anwar’s coffin.

But the First Lady is not too sure that she needs Deepak’s help to bury Anwar. She worries that he might also bury her alongside Anwar -- seeing that he has been telling everyone very nasty things about her. After all, Deepak has told everyone that Najib Tun Razak is going to fall by July 2011, according to Gurujee’s prediction. And Deepak claims that he has enough evidence to guarantee Najib’s downfall.

Does this sound like a threat (if you don’t accept me back then I will engineer your downfall)? Hey, no one threatens the First Lady and gets away with it.

Doesn’t Deepak know that one should not kiss and tell and to be wary of a woman scorned? The First Lady does not forgive and forget too easily and there are many who are just too happy to run to the First Lady to whisper in her ear about what Deepak is saying about her.

Deepak should stick to selling carpets. Playing the power game is too dangerous -- especially if it involves both the boardroom and the bedroom. And one does not bite the hand that feeds you, like what Deepak is doing.

Maybe a corruption investigation will now be launched to look into the bribery and corruption involving Deepak's facilities with the Kuwait Finance House. Who knows, instead of Deepak bringing P.I. Bala back to Malaysia he might instead have to move to Chennai and take up lodgings as Bala’s neighbour.

Sigh…how fortunes change from one extreme to another.
