PETALING JAYA: The price for premium petrol RON97 has gone up by 30 sen from RM2.70 to RM3 per litre.
Malaysian Petrol Dealers Association president Datuk Hashim Othmansaid the new price was effective at petrol pumps since 12.01am Thursday.
“This is following the world fuel price in the market, which has risen,” he said when contacted.
It was reported that the price of RON97 was slashed by 20 sen from RM2.80 to RM2.60 per litre in July.
The price was later increased to RM2.70 per litre in August.
The retail price of RON97 petrol is determined by a 'managed float' in which the price will be changed according market forces.
